Using the flute, various evolving and gloomy synthesizers, singing and rapping vocals with catchy lyrics and experimental sounds, VÜNEX creates a soundscape with strong contrasts, where softness and harshness find a balance, which are all served within the frame of pop music.

Hele-Mai Vettik (VÜNEX, fka MAI) is a singer, songwriter and music producer, whose musical journey began while studying the flute at the Nõmme Music School for 7 years. Later, she started writing and producing her own songs and in 2022 she went to the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre to study audiovisual composition. During her studies, she took a course in music production and songwriting under Maris Pihlap and Kelly Vask and studied studio mixing under Jose Diogo Neves. To this day, she has released 13 songs under MAI. VÜNEX is her new approach to music. Her artistic expression is inspired by patterns of nature, introspective thoughts and melancholic sounds. VÜNEX has performed at several Glitch Please events and also at the 2024 KÕU Festival.
